Staying in Tune with Moving Castles

Sipping on champagne at Le Café Marly overlooking the Musee du Louvre in Paris, I was unmistakably seduced by the allure of a creative paradise. One’s heightened sensitivity of ingenuity very charismatically takes form and free thought strangles you with no other option other than to just write, or sing, or dance or draw, or whichever form the strangulation best executes itself. On one very cold champagne-sipping evening outside of the Louvre, I started thinking about so many bands that are breaking so many parameters when it comes to performing, producing and writing. One of these bands is based here in Austin, TX, called Moving Castles. Band members, John Eric and Nick Cogdill and I got a chance to chat about their upcoming shows, the glue that keeps the band together as well as some of their most daring tour adventures. Take a look at our interview.

Eavesdropping with Tolly Moseley

On my recent trip to New Orleans, LA, or more commonly referred to as Nola 38, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of new comers throughout the country who now call New Orleans their home, including some local Austinites. In fact, Austinites are world renowned for their audacious travels, lust for adventure and zest for all things creative. This concept fully manifests itself as one indulges in some local eavesdropping, or better yet, in the extraordinary Austin Eavesdropper, managed by Austin writer, Tolly Moseley. The blog magazine, incorporating a plethora of features ranging from fabulous fashion shows to tantalizing chocolate tasting events, sizzles one’s taste buds (and mind) with unprecedented stories of up and coming artists, music shows as well as style tips for your next event. Take a look at my interview with well known blogger and writer, Tolly Moseley.

RAW Austin shows us Natural Born Artists

For most of us what does it mean to create…to produce…to capture…to express… to extract every sensational, electrifying consciousness within us and to articulate this to the world around us.  At one moment it can be so vividly antagonistic and at the same time, so liberating and emancipating.  It is not an easy job by no means for any artist, but it’s what allows us to be us, intoxicated with adventure, capable of enunciating how we perceive the ambience around us.  When I first came across RAW Austin, I was unbelievably overwhelmed.  Not only do they incorporate the very essence of being a natural born artist, but they provide several opportunities for artists to really promote their work through very affordable and achievable artist exchange programs throughout the country.  Their mission stands to “handpick and spotlight local artistic talent in film, fashion, music, visual art, hair and makeup artistry, and performance art”.  The idea is to bring these collective artists together to form an incredible one night circus of creativity.  Even more excitedly, we got an opportunity to speak with RAW Austin TX Director, Meghan Jones, RAW Austin featured Visual Artist Jason Ice as well as Fashion Designer Brandy Lee of Nunca Nunca.    For more information on RAW, see their video promo or to RSVP to the upcoming event happening on October 22nd at Club Deville in Austin, see RSVP.
